Parental control settings for children in Android

The use of smartphones and tablets by children has both advantages and disadvantages. Thanks to the phones, parents can at any time connect with their kids and be sure that everything is fine. The tablets themselves are both entertaining and educational devices that can get the attention of the kids for hours.

Unfortunately, both types of devices give children access to the global network, and there, as we know, is no strict restriction on all kind of content. However, parents still have some way to ensure the child’s safety on the Internet. See how to set parental control options in Android.

What is Parental Control
Any device with access to the app store, Google Play, gives everyone the right to install applications, no matter what age. By enabling parental control option, however, parents can restrict access to certain content on their child. This content will therefore become inaccessible by search and by clicking on the link.

How to activate parental control
Through the Google Play app
Open the Google Play app on a smartphone or tablet that uses your child. Click the icon-menu in the upper left corner and select Settings> Parental Controls. Activate the setting “Parental Controls”. Now is the time to create a PIN to make sure that no other family member can disable parental control.

Once you do this, you only need to select appropriate filters. Any content on Google Play can be filtered: applications, games, movies and TV shows, for example, can be set to the highest maturity level of the user. We can also restrict finding and downloading of obscene content.

In Web Browsers
The steps are almost identical, except that access to Google Play is not in an application but in your favorite web browser.
